Yes – A Canadian permanent resident is authorized to live, work and study in Canada long-term, but is also free to travel from and return to Canada according to certain regulations.
According to Canadian Visa Expert, you may travel outside of Canada for long periods of time (for example, on a business trip or vacation), but you must be physically present in Canada at least two years during a five-year period and must also have a valid Permanent Resident Card or Permanent Resident Travel Document in order to re-enter Canada.
